Sorry to hear of the problems with your eir Sport. I'll try get to the bottom of that for you.
The most common issue with that is downloading the wrong version of the app. If you are a broadband customer, you need to download the green app and if you're a mobile customer, you'd need the red.
Would that be the issue? If not, let me know and I can escalate that for you.
